Nutrition Contract Amendment to extend current agreement to Dec. 31, 2019
Submitted For: Kelli Scott
FROM: Helen Guzzo, Senior Services Manager, Senior Services
Department: Senior Services

Resolved, that the Calhoun County Board of Commission does hereby approve extending the 2016-2019 Senior Millage-funded Nutrition/Food Services agreement with Region 3B Area Agency on Aging, doing business as CareWell Services SW, from September 30, 2019 to December 31,2019, and authorizes the Board Chair to sign the agreement amendment.
County Administration recommends approval of this agreement amendment that extends the 2016-2019 Senior Millage contract for the Nutrition/Food Service for home-delivered and congregate meals from Sept. 30, 2019, the providers fiscal year, to December 31, 2019, the end of the County's fiscal year.

The proposed resolution does not increase the total amount of funding for this contract, but extends the time frame for Carewell Services to provide services under the contract and to permit the County to disbursement of the currently appropriated funds for an additianal three months. The timeing to request reimbursement is also modified from quarterly to monthly reimbursement. This change will allow for more transparency, better tracking of expenditures and ease of management of this program.
The amendment also changes the contact information for contract management to identify the current Senior Services Manager.

Fiscal Impact
This amendment extends an existing Senior Millage-funded meals contract for $480,837.00 from September 30, 2019, the end of the contractor's fiscal year to December 31, 2019, which is the end of the County's fiscal year. This funding was approved in the 2019 Senior Services budget. There is no impact on the general fund budget.
