United Way Workplace Campaign Resolution
Submitted For: Kelli Scott
FROM: Helen Guzzo, Senior Services Manager, Senior Services
Department: Senior Services

Resolved, that the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners, does hereby approve issuing a resolution recognizing the 2020 workplace campaign from November 5 through November 13, and authorizes the Board Chair to sign the resolution.   The Board of Commissioners urge elected officials and County employees to donate by payroll deduction to the annual United Way workplace campaign.
County Administration encourages elected officials and County employees to make a pledge of support to the United Way of their choice through payroll deduction or by a check.  County Administration recognizes the leadership role that the United Way has taken during the COVID-19 pandemic response and sees the continuing need in the community that nonprofit organizations help fill with annual United Way funding.   The United Way depends on the annual workplace campaigns to raise the funds to support work in the community.   This is the first year that the County is using a paperless, electronic pledge form.   A portal for pledging will be emailed to all employees and elected officials by the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region.  If elected officials and County employees wish to donate to the Marshall United Way or the Albion Homer United Way, they will have to designate their pledge to one of these United Ways. Calhoun County is unique in that is home to three United Way organizations.  Living united will help our community recover and be stronger.
