12. B. 3.
Brad Wilcox, Assistant County Administrator , Administration
Resolved the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners does hereby approve the lease agreement with the Substance Abuse Council, to provide office space in the County Building in Marshall as presented, and authorizes the County Administrator/Controller to sign the agreement on behalf of the County.
County Administration requests the approval of the Board of Commissioners to execute a 5-year lease agreement with the Substance abuse Council (SAC) for 860 square feet of office space in the Calhoun County Building in Marshall in the amount of $4300 per year.
Substance Abuse Council (SAC) is a coalition that has worked to prevent substance abuse in Calhoun County by collaborating with partners addressing the problems and issues related to substance abuse. SAC previously rented space in the Toeller Building in Battle Creek adjacent to the Public Defender Office on the third floor. The expansion of staff in the Public Defender Office made it necessary to terminate the SAC lease in the Toeller Building. The County worked with SAC to place them in a new office. The County and SAC determined that the best location was the first floor office in the County Building that had been recently vacated by the CCPHD WIC program. SAC agreed to a 5-year lease term beginning December 1, 2020. The Lease includes 860 square feet at an annual cost of $4300. The gross net lease includes; building maintenance, heat, electricity, and water. Additional technology services will be included in the lease at a monthly annual cost of $413.40.
County Administration requests the approval of the five-year Lease with SAC for 860 square feet of office space in the County Building at a cost of $4300 per year.
The SAC lease will generate $4300 in revenue in the County Building budget #154.15.631.6266.667. An Additional $4968 revenue will be generated for tech services as a result of the SAC lease
