2018 Act 51 Annual Financial Report
Shannon Rose, Staff Accountant, Road Department
Resolved the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners does hereby approve the submission of the Calhoun County Road Department Annual Financial Report (Act 51) to the State of Michigan as presented.
It is the Road Department's recommendation that the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners approve the submission of the Road Department's Act 51 report for the year ended December 31, 2018 to the State of Michigan.
Public Act 51 of 1951 (Act 51) governs state appropriations for most Michigan transportation programs, including state and local highway programs and state and local public transportation programs.
Act 51 funds are distributed statewide to each eligible governmental agency and the state transportation departments. Additionally, funds are distributed to the state transportation department for maintenance of state trunk lines, some of which pass through to governmental agencies via maintenance contracts.
The Act 51 report is an annually required document that summarizes the overall financial condition of the Road Department. It represents an account of all revenues and expenditures of Act 51 funds distributed from the Michigan Transportation Fund (MTF).
The Calhoun County Road Department prepares the Act 51 Report in conjunction with the County's annual audit.
