RESOLUTION:
Resolved, that the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners enters into closed session, pursuant to MCL 15.268 (h) to consider material exempt from discussion or disclosure by state or federal statute, specifically the written legal opinion of the County Corporation Counsel. 
RECOMMENDATION:
Administration and the Corporation Counsel recommend approval of the resolution. 
BACKGROUND:
The Michigan Open Meeting Act, at MCL 15.268 (h) permits a public body to enter into a closed or executive session to discuss material exempt from discussion or disclosure by state or federal statute. The Michigan Freedom of Information Act, at MCL 15.243 (g) specifically  permits a public body to exempt from disclosure a document protected by the attorney client privilege. Working together these two statutes authorize a closed session to discuss the written opinon of the corporation counsel on legal matters requiring professional advice.
