RESOLUTION:
 Resolved, that the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners does hereby approve the addition of Equalization Clerk to the Authorized Staffing Allocation for the Equalization Department, along with any necessary budget adjustments.
RECOMMENDATION:
  It is recommended that the Board of Commissioners approve the addition of Equalization Clerk to the Authorized Staffing Allocation for the Equalization Department, along with any necessary budget adjustments.
BACKGROUND:
Tom Scott (Deputy Equalization Director) is requesting the addition of Equalization Clerk to the Authorized Staffing Allocations for the Equalization Department.  The plan is for this individual to train with the current Office Administrator in preparation for a future vacancy. The Equalization Clerk position will also assume additional duties due to the current retirement of the department’s Property II Appraisers. The position was previously classified in the TPOAM unit and it would be placed back on the applicable wage scale upon approval.

Fiscal Impact
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The estimated cost of the position for the remainder of 2021 is $17,680.69, including wages and fringe. The position costs will be offset by upcoming vacancies in the department resulting from retirements.
